Youth Carpentry 101 (Young Womxn)

Event Date:

March 30, 2021

Event Time:

1:00 pm

Event Location:

The Dapper Hammer

Here at The Dapper Hammer, we’re all about diversity and inclusion. Please note that by ‘womxn’ we are referring to people who identify as female regardless of what gender they were assigned at birth, as well as people who live outside the gender binary and would feel comfortable in a womxn-centric space. We are constantly striving to create a space that is safe & inclusive of all and welcome your feedback on this language.

Yes, young womxn can build, too!! Whether your youth is completely new to tools, or has been unscrewing your kitchen cabinet handles for years (a favorite past time of young Darnell kiddos), this is the class for them!

Carpentry 101 is a safe, supportive environment for young womxn to explore new tools, learn new skills, and inspire themselves and others with their imagination. This class is a fun introduction to measuring, marking, cutting with the miter saw (a crowd favorite!), sanding, and hammer/screwdriver/power drill experience!

We will chat about shop safety, try our hand at a variety of tools, and work on an individual project, which each youth will take home at the end of class (and hopefully enjoy all summer long)!
